On, the video game preservation group Obscure Gamers obtained a debug backup disc of the PlayStation Portable version of the game dating back to November 2009. With the game's official release, it is uncertain how far the Wii, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS versions got in development, though sources suggest that they were cancelled early in said development.

There is no release date currently, but the team is trying its best to get it out as soon as possible. In other words, you won’t need to have Sonic Unleashed in order to enjoy it. According to the team, this mod will only require Sonic Generations.
